Life isn't easy. That is such an obvious statement. The cares and stresses of living in these modern times often weigh heavy.
If you have been saved can you remember how bleak and empty your life once was? Even the strongest person, someone with an iron will has felt the pressures of living in this fallen world. Money worries, relationship problems, family conflicts and so the list goes on and on and on.
The Christian life is not always easy! Far from it at times. You will still face ups and downs identical to those when you didn't know The Lord.
But as a Christian you can take heart and rejoice in these unshakeable truths.
The Lord is with you!
He watches over you!
He loves and cares for you more than anyone!
His mighty hand guides every path you take!
He will never forsake you, no matter what!
He sent His only begotten Son to die for you!
He has promised you eternal life in Heaven!
These incredible truths make the cares of the world of secondary importance. Yes it's still hard being a Christian. Often a lot harder in terms of trials and tribulations than it is for the unsaved. But it is so worth it. The reward is beyond our simple human minds.
James 1:12
'Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.'
The bleakness and emptiness is a distant memory when we offer our hearts to Jesus. When we fall to our knees and surrender our lives to the Almighty God of creation we look beyond this mortal existence. We long for the time when we will live in our eternal home alongside our awesome saviour, The Lord Jesus Christ.
Yes life isn't easy on this sin infected world. But as Christians we know that one day soon God will return to bring an end to pain and suffering. Jesus will give us the keys to our mansions in Heaven, to dwell alongside Him for all eternity.
Romans 8: 35-39
'Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
another great blog. I love that verse about being more than conquerors!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen.
DeleteYes that is a great verse. I also like the last verse that has all those wonderful guarantees that nothing can separate us from our saviour's love.
I really like your thought process here, because this is not what it is all about. There is more. We have some of it here to enjoy, and so much more ahead both in this life and in heaven. Great thinking. Thanks for the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless, David.
I never will get used to the fact that God loves us without limit and one day we will get to live forever with Jesus in Heaven in peace, harmony and unending love.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments David.
