This ludicrous theory is gathering fever-pitch, you know it would almost be laughable if it wasn't true. I mean you really couldn't make this up.
...The world as we know it will end on 21st December 2012...
That's in less than 2 days time from me posting this article.
The most obvious Bible verse to quote to rebuke this utter drivel is well known amongst Christians.
Matthew 24:36:
'"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.'
This hogwash about Mayans being amazing prophets who managed to unlock the secrets of the universe by predicting the end of the world in December 2012 is an insult to anyone's intelligence - but most of all an insult to The Lord our God.
I even know of Christians who have had their heads turned by this nonsense. This is yet another lie from the deceiver, a doctrine of Satan. If you profess to know The Lord Jesus Christ in your heart then I fail to see how you can be fooled by this theory for even a heartbeat.
Ignore this Mayan mumbo-jumbo and trust in the only source of truth. The Bible, the Holy Word of God.
Psalm 56:4
'In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?'
The sad misguided new-agers are having a field day with this Mayan inspired garbage. I have read that the end of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar signifies a new state of consciousness where mankind will evolve spiritually to a higher plain. Other foolish people claim this date will involve an event where our alien masters descend to earth and reveal themselves and explain the mysteries of the universe to us humans.
As a Christian I see through all of this as vile works of the evil one, deceiving and lying as he has always done.
Nothing is going to happen on this date. Some say the illuminati will stage something, as it is too good an opportunity to miss to bring about their New World Order. Well yes possibly if God allows it - BUT here is the crux - nothing, absolutely nothing happens without God expressly allowing it.
Now to the truth about the end of the world. The world is in fact going to end soon.
Yes that's right!
But it has nothing to do with Mayans or Aliens or illuminati or anything to do with any ridiculous new age theories.
The truth is that The Lord Jesus Christ is coming back soon, and that is a fact. When, read Matthew 24:36 again - we simply do not know.
Romans 14:11:
'It is written: "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.'
Whether you believe that or not, whether it fills you with utter joy or makes you laugh with contempt. The fact remains God is coming soon, coming to judge and bring and end to this corrupt and perverse world to set up his new kingdom. As a Christian who loves The Lord I eagerly await His return.
Well said, and well put. Amen to the fact that Jesus will return and take His own. What a thought and well above the Mayan 'drivel'. God Bless!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments David.
DeleteThe amount of utter nonsense that people listen to in these last days is ludicrous. The Mayan example is just another web of lies spun by pagan belief. Sadly all too rife today.
