When we confess "Jesus is Lord" it comes with the understanding that He not only exercised power 2000 years ago; He existed before all things, He governs all things today, and He will continue to master all things throughout eternity. He is the Alpha and the Omega, all powerful, The Lord of Lords and King of Kings.
It's not only important that we say that with our mouth, we need to believe that deep down in our heart and give our everything to Jesus.
Romans 10:9:
"If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
If you don't know Jesus as Saviour you need to make that confession from the depths of your heart before you leave this world. Jesus provided our salvation by becoming a man (and still fully God) and dying on the cross to pay for our sins. And the only way to have your sins pardoned is to accept that sacrifice.
Here's Satan's lie. That liar wants you to believe that surrendering control of your life to Jesus Christ means being weighed down with sorrow. The evil one wants you to believe that life will never be fun and you'll wallow in misery under God's thumb of oppression. But when the Bible speaks of Christ's lordship it's nothing like that.
Jesus is for you! He is full of love, goodness, mercy, and compassion.
1 Corinthians 2:9:
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him."
Submitting to Christ's Lordship Means You Trust Him!
Luke 6:46:
"Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?"
That's a fair question.
Jesus Christ is Lord!
BUT... Is He Lord of your life? Be assured you can completely trust Him! Jesus is for you; He always has your best interests in mind; and He will never ever fail you.
Jeremiah 29:11: "
"I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
so true. Matthew 11 v 28-29 gives us reassurance: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
ReplyDeleteTake my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." The peace that so often eludes a world without Jesus can be found only in Him.
Thanks Karen. This verse from Matthew shows how much we need Jesus. He is the only one who can give us peace and rest. Without Him we are utterly destitute.
