Marriage - one man one woman

There are a lot of people saying that same-sex marriage should be accepted. These cries for this 'long overdue change' are all from a human worldview perspective.

Well as a born again Christian I have a Biblical view, there is no ambiguity at all with how scripture deals with marriage - a union between one man and one woman, period.

Leviticus 18:22:
"Do not practice homosexuality; it is a detestable sin."

For Christians, our authority is the Bible. Scripture clearly teaches that homosexual activity is contrary to God’s intention. Just because mankind says it is acceptable in no way makes it right.

Look at the mess man has made of this world today. We haven't done a good job of changing things in the past. It's getting progressively worse - just watch the news on any given day.

This is where our understanding of worldview becomes so critical. When we examine a worldview position, the first place we have to look is the authority source. So for same-sex marriage changing the law to accept this is 100% from a man-made source, not from God's clear teaching of opposing it on every level.

1 Corinthians 3:19:
"For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, God catches those who think they are wise in their own cleverness."

To say that religion has to move with the times and catch up with the 21st century is not valid.
Yes cultish religion has always tried to do that to keep church attendances up and not alienate themselves from their partitioners.

I'm am not talking about those organised fake religions. I share everyone's frustrations with those kind of churches.

No, I am talking about the one and only true faith that has never changed and never will.

A Bible based faith in Jesus Christ.

Not altered by pagan influence, not hypocritically paying lip service to parts of the Bible and taking a pair of scissors to the parts that do not fit into their lifestyle.

Yes I am talking about genuine Bible believing faith in Jesus, accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour.

So yes I reiterate, some say that religion needs to move with the times, oh I agree the false cults do and always will. But God does not work that way.

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Malachi 3:6:
"For I am the Lord, I do not change."

Jesus never changes - why?

Because His word is flawless. Men can try to change laws to suit a hedonistic society that is always trying to push the boundaries. But God's laws do not change, because they don't have to change.

Am I homophobic. Not at all. Not even slightly. I am not judging anyone, that's not a Christians place.

I simply do not have the right to do that.

Jesus will judge every one of us. You either believe that or you don't. I do with every ounce of my being. Are you ready to stand before our Creator and give an account?

2 Corinthians 5:10:
"For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body."

What I am posting this? Thats simple, I think that giving a Biblical perspective on same-sex marriage is utterly vital.

I felt I had to give a Christian perspective on why changing the law is completely wrong.

God is crystal clear about this and if Jesus said it then its good enough for me.

I'm always open to discuss this and any other Christian related topics with anyone who wants to have a measured and adult conversation.
