It is incredible to know that God the Father sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, into the world as a man to shed His blood and to die for our sins. Why did Jesus, God in the flesh, do this for us.
It can be explained in one word - LOVE.
John 3:16-17
'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world
through Him might be saved'.
Jesus never sinned and selflessly gave His life for us. He was the perfect and holy sacrifice for our sins. The spotless Lamb of God.
Our crimes against God were laid upon Him - Yes Jesus loved us so much that He did that amazing thing for us. The most incredible act of love ever.
Jesus was the sinner's substitute on the cross. Because He died for sinners, those who receive Him as their Saviour are no longer under sentence of death and are promised everlasting life.
Those who do not believe on Him will not have everlasting life. They are condemned and lost, rejecting that wonderful gift means separation from God and his immeasurable love.
Salvation sounds simple, and you know something it is simple.
You only have to ask Jesus into your heart, and repent and ask Him to guide your steps. Only Jesus can transform a heart of stone and wash away our sins. There is no other way.
Do not trust your feelings. They change. Stand on God’s promises.
God's offers each and every one of us a free gift of salvation - isn't that utterly amazing.
But again this gift is only for those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour and surrender their life to Him.
Mankind has been granted a free will by God and because of this, God will not force Himself on anyone. But He wants us to come to Him and be saved. You can only be saved by receiving the Saviour. Faith in Jesus is the ONLY way to Heaven.
John 11:25-26:
'I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were
dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die'.
Jesus died for us on the cross, He gave His life so that we might live. That is a love we will never fully understand in this life, that kind of love is simply beyond our limited earthly minds. We will only truly comprehend that pure and perfect love when we meet God face to face in eternity.
Such a great gift, and so well put. It's not complicated, is it? Makes me wonder sometimes why this free gift is not accepted more than it is!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. The greatest gift there is, but you are right some will never accept it.
